ZSL Mongolia team joins ZSL global strategy meeting ahead of 200th AnniversaryJuly 2024
In preparation for its 200th anniversary in 2026, the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) invited representatives from all its country offices to a strategic meeting to discuss the organization’s global vision and goals for the next 10 years. The Mongolian team, representing ZS Luujin, took part in this important gathering, contributing insights and learning from global counterparts. This meeting provided an opportunity for the team to align with ZSL’s long-term conservation strategy, exchange experiences, and explore how ZS Luujin will continue to grow as an independent national NGO while maintaining strong collaboration with ZSL.

The participation of Mr. Altangerel D., a ranger from Bulgan, Arkhangai, in the 10th World Ranger Congress, with support from ZSL.

Great Gobi A Buffer Zone Council Reviews 2023 Progress and Sets 2024 PlanMarch 2024
The Collaborative Management Council for the buffer zone of the Great Gobi Strictly Protected Area concluded its annual meeting on March 11, 2024, in Bayankhongor aimag. The session closed with remarks from Mr. Ganzorig, Head of the Bayankhongor Environmental Department, and Ms. Bolor, Conservation Program Manager of the ZSL Mongolia Representative Office. During the meeting, members reviewed achievements from 2023, approved the 2024 action plan, and elected Mr. Jargalsaikhan, head of the Shinjinst soum buffer zone, as the new CMC chair. Council members also exchanged ideas on how to strengthen ongoing results and address current challenges. As part of the event, ZSL biologist Bilguun distributed the newly developed SMART patrol user manual to relevant partners.

Little Ecologists Shine at Community ForumNovember 2023
The Bayantooroi Eco Club’s “Little Ecologists” played a standout role at the First Community-Based Organization Forum in the buffer zone of Great Gobi SPA “A”, organized by ZSL Mongolia, Hanns Seidel Foundation Mongolia, and GGASPA “A”. The talented young members, led by their dedicated teacher Bayarmaa, not only volunteered to support the event but also performed inspiring messages about wildlife protection and gathered feedback from participants—leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
