Canine Conservation Program
As Mongolia’s first dedicated canine detection program, this initiative enhances wildlife protection efforts by training specialized detection dogs to identify illegally traded wildlife products. The program includes the establishment of training facilities, recruitment of skilled handlers, and the introduction of scent-detection dog breeds tailored for conservation law enforcement.

Key Initiatives & Milestones:

  • Equipment Supply: 19 dogs, 24 kennels, 24 dog gears, 2 Scent labs, training tools (40 kong, 3 carousels, 1000 bricks), 2 dog transport vehicles, 19 uniforms
  • First Standards for K9 Instructors & K9 Handlers
  • Peri-urban patrols: 3 times 34 days at UB entry points and three PAs
  • First National K9 Forum Oct 2022
